U10 D4 Recreation Program
1. Rules and Regulations
Revised August 2008
Game: 8 v 8, includes goalie. (min. on field to start is 5 max on field is 8 includes goalie)
2 halves of 25 minutes apiece, with a 5 minute halftime break.
Soccer ball is size #4.
Field:
35 yards to 60 yards: Width
50 yards to 90 yards: Length
Goal box: 6 yards x 18 yards
Half way Line, with a Center Circle of an 6 yard radius.
Goal size: 6 ft x 14 ft to 7 ft x 21 ft.
Roster Size: 9-13 players per team.
Rules: Games are to follow the FIFA laws of the game except as specifically modified by MRYSL.
Modifications of note:
No offsides.
Only indirect kicks for fouls, fouls in the goal box by defending team ball is moved to the top line of the goal box nearest where the foul occurred and an indirect free kick is awarded.
No Slide tackles, infractions result in an indirect free kick.
Opponents shall remain 6 yards from ball during corner kicks and indirect kicks.
Goal kicks can be taken from anywhere in the goal box, but must pass out of the goal area before another player can touch the ball.
If ball does not pass out of goal box then restart is just a re-kick.
No charging the goalie when they are within the goal box area.
Tie games stand.
Playing time each player must play 50% of the time.
Players: Are to wear soccer cleats, shinguards, team uniform and no jewelry/ clothing that could cause harm during play.
