Rules and Regulations
Revised August 2006
Game: 6 v 6, with a goalie inclusive.
2 halves of 25 minutes apiece, with a 5 minute halftime break.
Soccer ball is size #4.
Field: 35 yards to 40 yards: Width
50 yards to 60 yards: Length
Goal box: 6 yards x 18 yards
Penalty area: 10 yards x 26 yards
Penalty Kick Mark: 8 yards from center of goal.
Penalty area Half Circle: 8 yard radius from Penalty Kick Mark
Half way Line, with a Center Circle of an 8 yard radius.
Goal size: 6 ft x 14 ft to 7 ft x 21 ft.
Teams: 8-9 players per team.
Rules: Games are to follow the FIFA laws of the game except as specifically modified by MRYSL.
Modifications of note:
No offsides.
Only indirect kicks for fouls, except for fouls in the penalty area by defending team which will result in a penalty kick as per FIFA rules.
Opponents shall remain 8 yards from ball during corner kicks and indirect kicks.
Goal kicks can be taken from anywhere in the goal box, but must pass out of the penalty area before another player can touch the ball.
Opposing team is awarded an indirect kick from the kick off mark at the halfway line for goalie punts that land in the opposing teams penalty area.
Players: Are to wear soccer cleats, shinguards, team uniform and no jewelry/ clothing
that could cause harm during play.
