MRYSL is committed to providing both basic and additional education opportunities for all "recreation" team coaches. In August, these events will kick off on Wednesday August 3rd with the POSITIVE COACHING WORKSHOP AND COACHES ORIENTATION held at the Arcata Community Centre from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm. Coaches will pick up their team packets on this night.
August events (watch this space!!) will continue with a CYSA pre-F (entry level) License, and an F License (basic credential for Rec). A CYSA E License is also possible based on demand...please let Rebecca Nordquist know if you want the E and already have an F.
In support of these CYSA License events, there will be six (6) hands-on sessions (by age group) with Nick Parker modeling age-appropriate CYSA curriculum with "real live kids!" . If you are interested in having your team be "guinea pigs" for such sessions (T-W-Th nights in August by appointment) let Rebecca know at nordquistclan@aol.com
Each team will be expected to sign and turn in a POSITIVE COACHING TEAM PLEDGE, and to identify a POSITIVE PARENT REP (who is NOT the head Coach).This person will serve as a conduit for ensuring a positive experience for all, win lose or draw. Additional PC Training will happen in August and at the D4 Jamboree-Play day.

Follow UP PCA EVENTS and Policies
At all our Coach workshops (see calendar of events) there will be strategies included to promote positive practices and the creation of age-appropriate environments.
