Rain Policy The general policy on rain outs is that games are not called until the morning of the games. The decision is made based on field conditions. How much it rained in the last 24-48 hours and/or how much it is raining or expected to rain the morning of the games.
The MRYSL President, in consultation with the Referee Coordinator, can cancel games prior to the scheduled time of play. The only person authorized to cancel a game on the field is the referee scheduled for that game after (s)he personally inspects the field. Coaches cannot cancel the game, even by mutual consent.
In the event of rain, teams should assume that games will be played, and proceed to the field, unless otherwise notified by the Mad River Youth Soccer League or their representative.
If games are cancelled there would be notification on the home page of this web site. It is coaches responsibilty to check the web site or hotline and to notify their team. If you are the home coach you should contact the other coach to tell them of cancellation. Division 4 games that are rained out are not made up.
"Field Closed" signs posted by the town or schools will be more current and take precedence over any notices on the website or hotline.
Every effort is made to play Division 1 and Division 3 games when we are hosting teams from out of the area. We have alternate fields available check with your League President, field coordinator or referee assignor.
